Cards and Cocktails III

Today I want to share the third and final card we made at Heidi's and I think it's my fav! This card uses the "From My Heart" set on page 139 for the medallion and "Elements of Style" for the pretty flowers on the background.  Those of you who know me know I am not a shader - I light sharp, clean, simple - but I really like the sponged edge of the newsprint to bring out the focal point of this card.  Lovely - huh?!?
If you're interested in ordering you can view all of our catalogs here - http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/stampingwithmaureen/catalogs and order online right there or email me your order. See ya soon!!  ~Maureen

Cards and Cocktails Card II

Here's the second card we made at Heidi's Cards and Cocktails - I love the colors - the Pool Party, Summer Starfruit and Gray - who would have thought that would be such a great color combination.  Love it!!
I'm glad we used the "Blooming with Kindness" set.  I bought it a while ago and it is lovely - but I never pull it out and use it.  Now I think I will - it is really pretty.  Thanks for a great card Heidi.  If you're interested in any of these products you can view all of our catalogs here - http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/stampingwithmaureen/catalogs and order online right there or email me your order. Thanks for stopping by - tomorrow - the third great card we made.  ~Maureen

Fun with the Jones Kids.....

Today I thought I'd share some of the pictures I have from the Jones kids over the last few weeks.  We try to spend as much time as possible with the grandkids, and next week I'll post pictures of some times with the King kids :)
Zamarah, Paisley and Prince making french bread pizza creations.
More pizza fun!
Paisley and Prince!
All three kiddos - looks like they're having fun to me.
Prince and Papa - the guys hanging out doing 'car' stuff.
Prince blowing bubbles.
Miss Zamarah after a day of preschool fun!
Zamarah's face painted.
Zamarah's turn at bubbles.
Zamarah finishing her final touches on the pizza.
Thanks for allowing me to share my babies - they all mean the world to me.  Stop back tomorrow for some more rubber stamping.  ~Maureen

Cards, Cards, Cards III

Here is the third and final card we did at my last Cards Stamp Camp - It's a birthday made with Topsy-Turvy Celebration on page 41 of the SU catalog.  I used rich colors - both because it's fall and because I wanted to be able to use it for male or female - Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple - all from our 2012-14 In-color collection.  You can see and order our products at my website - here - http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/stampingwithmaureen/catalogs
The celebrate, cake base and candles are all stamped directly on the cardstock, but the cake layers are stamped, cut, and layered topsy-turvy - just as the set name says.  It is adorable.  Added a couple little punched flowers and some mini pearls  and ---- voila!!  Hope you liked it! Stop back soon.  ~Maureen

Cards, Cards, Cards II

So here's my second card for our last Cards camp - how cute is this.  I gotta tell you - those framelits are AMAZING!  I love to cut things out - but look how great these items look cut out with my Big Shot - couldn't do it by hand that neatly.  The back ground is done with the Stampin' Up! Core'dinations cardstock.  We ran it through the Big Shot with the wood grain folder, and then sanded it to bring out the core color - it looks just like wood.
The set is Perfectly Preserved from page 29 of the SU Holiday catalog along with the Cannery Set Framelits Dies.  You can both of these items in a bundle and save approximately $6.  You can view all of our catalogs here - http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/stampingwithmaureen/catalogs and order online or email me your order.  Hope you liked it - stop back soon for another :)  ~Maureen

Cards, Cards, Cards...

Today I want to share the first card we did at my Cards, Cards, Cards Stamp camp last week.   THIS IS MY FAVORITE.  I know I got inspiration for this from somewhere - but where --??  Anyway I put my own twist on it and came up with this.  What a nice "thinking of you" card to send - I love everything about it.  First it uses our Crumb Cake cardstock - which I LOVE.  To me it gives a nice warm, kinda country look to the card. The florishes and that bold circle are from Daydream Medallions on page 117 of the big SU catalog.  This set also coordinates with our Floral Frames framelits for easy cutting out.
I also used my new favorite punch on page 184 of the catalog - Elegant Butterfly - added some pretty tone on tone florishes the butterfly wings and a couple pearls for the body.  I just think it came out so pretty.  You can see all these products in our catalogs at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/stampingwithmaureen/catalogs Hope you liked it also - stop back soon to see more creations and hopefully inspiration!  ~Maureen

Second Halloween Project

So - finally - my second Halloween project from our class last weekend. We made this adorable test tube holder.  I used this great tutorial from Lisa Somerville on splitcoaststampers - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/testtubeholder/

My only changes were instead of cutting out the big sections for the back, I folded them over and taped down to give holder more sturdiness.  Also, since my test tubes were smaller I used the 3/4" circle punch.  I love the little mummy on the front with his one googly eye - he's my fav!  We filled the test tubes with white nerds and they turned out great!  Will share the other two projects in a few days.  We hope to repeat this class as it was so successful - so watch for details to come.  ~Maureen

Witches, Goblins and Spooks oh my!!

Last Saturday was our annual Halloween projects Stamp Camp.  Both Heidi and I LOVE Halloween - the colors, the fun images - so each year we do a special class.  Today I'm sharing the first of four projects we made.  This adorable framed Halloween art - Couple things that are hard to see in the picture - The "Boooo" is raised on a dimensional and the mummy's head is up on top of that and his little hands are curved out - so it looks like he's coming off the page.  The Witches hat and the "Spooky" are raised on dimensionals. The mummy and spider have googly eyes and the skull has gems for eyes - the ribbon on the side just gave it a finishing touch.
Hope you liked this project - stop back tomorrow to see what else we made.  ~Maureen

Happy Birthday Kamili

Last week we celebrated Kamili's 6th Birthday - just can't believe how fast the year's are flying by....where are my babies :)  Here's Heidi and Kamili gettting candles ready -
And here's my sweetie blowing out those candles -
The party was a Monster High themed party - here's the candy buffet that Heidi set up for the group....the kids (and Moms) loved it!
When I came into the house with the balloons Kamili came running up to me and said - and I quote - "Isn't that the cutest skull you ever saw?"  Now that's a statement I thought I'd never here from my 6 year old grand daughter.  (LOL)
All in all - we had a wonderful time - great fun, food, friends and family - what more could we ask for.  Happy Birthday Baby Girl!! We love you!!  ~Gramma Maureen

September Order Thank You's

So I LOVE my customers - truly I do.  They are the best.  I have made so many amazing friends through Stampin' Up! and I want them to know how much I appreciate them.  So I'm going to try and make cards each month to stick in their orders.  Here's my first round.  The small "thank you" layer above has gone into all my orders to far this month - they are just the right size to add as a layer on the customer's own card.  The other card image is the same layer - but I have put it into a card that I gave my workshop hostesses this month.
I love fall and fall colors - and I am a clean and simple kind of gal - so these cards were just perfect for me. Hope my customers know how much I appreciate them!!  ~Maureen

Sueded Cardstock

At our last downline meeting Heidi shared how to take Stampin' Up! cardstock and using a bone folder work the cardstock over it and over it to break up the fibers.  Eventually the cardstock will start separating and you can pull it apart into two layers - each one more soft - and feels like suede fabric. Since it is now soft and pliable you can use it pretty much as you would fabric.  Here she used a piece for the topper on this cute little jar full of clothes pins - adorable.

Downline Meeting Project

Last week at our downline meeting we made these adorable little Halloween pouches.  I saw the original idea here on Lorri Heiling's blog here - and changed it up just a bit to make it mine :)  We used a 4" x 6" piece of the newsprint paper (so you can get 6 of them out of a 12x12" piece.  Then with it horizontal on the table in front of us, just folded it almost in half leaving about a 1/2" hang over.  Then we put snail on the 1/2" flap and across the bottom, folded it up and voila - a pouch.  Next we used the scallop border punch to scallop the top, sponged it with Cajun Craze, added the spider webs and the little spider (or bat) tag and filled it with crimped fill and candy.

To make the crimped fill I cut tons of very thin little strips from Cajun, Purple and Black cardstock.
Grab several pieces and fold in half
Then crimp it by folding back and forth - each little section is about 1/4" or so -
Then I opened them back up a bit and tucked them in the pouches - how cute and simple is that.  Here are several all done up and ready for Halloween :)  Hope you enjoyed.

Today I'm sharing Lois' gift from her Secret Sis - it is another lovely decorated candle.  But with a BooBoo - when Lois was opening it, somehow the jar broke :( Sorry secret sis!!  Hopefully she can still use it.  Fortunately she didn't get cut - so that was good.

Hostess Gift for Club Hostess

Today I wanted to share the Hostess Gift I made for this month's Club Hostess - Tamara.  I found these great frames at a local craft store, added some lined paper, some pretty paper flower and ribbon, and threw in a green dry erase marker.  I love the orange flowers for this fall season.
Thanks Tamara, for a great workshop!! ~Maureen

Bleached Out Images

Our Club technique this month was "Bleached Out Images" - here is our technique card for our binders.
Here is a close-up of the bleached out image.  I used the tips of a worn out blender pen (the ones that no longer blend), but you can also use a paint brush.  Gel bleach is a little easier to work with as it's a bit thicker and will not spill quite as easily.  I always use it when doing this at a workshop - just easier to handle.  Below you can see a close up of the image.  You can keep bleaching to get it all pure white if you want, but each color of cardstock bleaches out a little differently, and I like the different tones you get when you just put the bleach on and see what happens.  This coloring reminds me of stonewashed jeans.
Finally we always try to do one extra project, and I wanted to demo our little purse die.  It's pretty plain and simple due to time in our workshop, but I think it turned out cute.  Used the International Bazaar paper to add a pretty front to our little purses.  Stick some little candies in, and it's the perfect party favor!!
Hope you stop back soon!! ~Maureen

Bleach technique Christmas Card

At my Stamp Club this month we made this beautiful Christmas card.  The poinsettia was stamped with versamark, embossed in gold, bleached out the inside of the flower (I use my worn out blender pens to do this) and colored it with a real red marker.  If we hadn't bleached it, it would still have looked good, but by bleaching out the darker cardstock first you get more of the Real Red color.  Not bleaching it makes it more burgundy, and it really looked lovely just bleached and not even colored - kinda like the pink verigated poinsettias you can buy.  So just a little difference in how the finished card comes out.  It's fun to try and see the differences you'll get.

Here's the card finished.  I love the gold embossed on gold at the bottom front of this card.  So elegant.

Added the Rose Red to the inside of the card and stamped our sentiment and mistletoe (to match the envie).
Stop back tomorrow to see the technique card we made, and the other little project we did.  ~Maureen
