Backstage Las Vegas Leadership Conference

So last month I spent several days in Las Vegas at our Stampin' Up! Leadership conference and had an amazing time.  I just wanted to share a bit of it here - both for you and for me!  First are the gifts I made for several friends and my Global Inspiration Team gals - it's this cute little box -

Filled with a Tennessee staple - lol -

I included this information -

Moon Pies and Fireflies – two great parts of life in Tennessee.

Moon Pies originated in Tennessee back in the early nineteen hundreds and were supposed to have been made for the coal miners there to make their time underground a little more bearable.  In the 1950’s Moon Pies paired with RC Cola as an affordable and filling snack and each year there is a RC Cola and Moon Pie festival held in June in tiny Bell Buckle, TN – that smiling visitors from all over the world attend.

On a warm summer night in the state of Tennessee, fireflies – also known as lightning bugs – are a common sight.  These insects light up the sky in rural and suburban areas for a few seconds at a time with their tiny yellow-green abdomens. For me they are a nostalgic memory of my childhood in Wisconsin – I just love them.  They are magical and awe inspiring.

And they topped it all off with a final night experience of the Cirque du Soleil - Beatles LOVE show -
It was all amazing - I had a wonderful time from start to finish - and can't wait till the next time.  Thank you Stampin' Up!  for everything you do for us!

Adorable little business card holder

So this month at my Leadership Team meeting we talked about what we want to do with our business and how to grow them.  One of the things every business needs is business cards - which hopefully we all have.  But we also have to get those cards out there - so we made these adorable business card holders.

I CASED this idea from fellow demonstrator "Pootles" Sam Hammond Donald from the UK.  But I changed it up a little - here is my drawing of the pattern that we used to create this.  The dark lines are scored - the striped sections cut out, and the entire thing folds up to make this holder - a little tape, a few embellishments and voila!  It can be done in any color you like to match your own business cards.

So hope you like it - how about you make one of your own and send me the picture - I'd love to see your creation!
Off to create some more fun stuff!!  ~Maureen

Better pictures of gifts - off to a great start!!

Here is a close up of the box of candy and the little fold up tote - how cute is that tag and note the little bauble -

But as I mentioned - it matched our Leadership bag - here are Theresa and Heidi with it.  The bottom of the bag unbuttons and is reversible to all of the red pattern and the entire back is reversible to show the entire blue pattern - so you can use the bag many ways.  All of this was to go with the theme of "My Way" for Leadership and SU will be using it through out the year.  You could have chocolate (my way) and your bag (my way) - so cute!!

Roomie Gifts

So Leadership was amazing.  I love San Antonio and the Riverwalk - and it was even better sharing it with 1399 other STAMPERS :)  Here are the little gifts I made for my room-mates - Cheryl, Heidi and Theresa - I hope they liked them.

All three notebooks with packets of Kleenex - every Leadership or Convention I cry at least once - so I thought they'd be a great addition to the notebooks; and look how cute they are!!

Here is the notebook partially open - it is magnetic, so the green cardstock covers the magnet.  So cute!!
Here is one of the notebooks and kleenex packets up  close!

My Knock-off

Cute Card - we did the cutest card at SU Leadership this past January as one of the make and takes. I loved it because it used stamping techniques, and great dimension, but was simple enough for anyone to do and be proud of - so I decided to recreate it using what I had on hand for our January Stampers 10 club - here is the orignal I made a Leadership - and here is my knock-0ff version. I changed up the colors a bit, the sentiment, used a different ribbon and one of our new epoxy brads for the center of the flower. I like it a lot - what do you think?

See the cute reusable bags we were able to buy - LOVE them!Later that evening it was time for our Make and Take session - Heidi and Toni are showing off their creations below.
