Sale-a-bration is winding down.  Less than two weeks to earn beautiful free products with purchase - and I have been having so much fun playing with those products.  This project features two of them - the Documenting the Day Stamp Set - 

and the Fruit Salad DSP - 

I combined them to make this simple and beautiful card - 

The simple dotted DSP is on the backside of the Pomegranate fruit - and is the perfect backdrop for the large bold sentiment.  I stamped and fussy cut the sun for a little fun addition, and not sure if you can see it or not; but I added some Wink of Stella to it to give the card some added sparkle.

This card would be a perfect Thank you Card to someone who made a day special for you; or a Birthday card to someone, celebrating their wonderful day.  Add a little iridescent bow and some low profile dots - and you have a the perfect little card.

This is such a great time of year!  I love the holidays - I try not to stress, and enjoy every minute of it.  But once January comes - I am ready to move on - and the new Mini Catalog and Sale-a-bration offer so many new products to do that with.  For my project I chose to use some favorite products - the Terrific Toadstools bundle from the catalog and the amazing coordinating Toadstool Gardens DSP and Fresh Freesia Seam Binding from Sale-a-bration.

How fun are these!!  Each are amazing alone - but together - wow!!  So here is my card - 

I can't wait to sent it out to someone I love and brighten their day.  Quick tip on how I get my strips to layout exactly as I want - I play with them before glueing down.  I move them around and get them just as I want them - and then I take a picture on my phone so I can recreate it.

After getting all of that laid out I added a beautiful bow and some Fresh Freesia Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots - just love it!!  I'm all about finishing the inside of my card to coordinate - 

and of course - I'm all about finishing the envelope so it looks great when the recipient picks up their mail.

·       Card Stock and Paper: Balmy Blue (146982), Basic White (159276), Calypso Coral (122925), Everyday Skies DSP (164622)

·       Ink:  Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends (154883), Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends (154881), Copper Clay Stampin’ Blends (161662), Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends (154904), Tuxedo Black Memento (132708)

·       Tools:  Bone Folder (102300), 1 ¾” Circle Punch (119850), 2” Circle Punch (133782), 2 3/8” Circle Punch (161354), Paper Trimmer (152392)

·       Miscellaneous: Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Stampin’ Seal Adhesive (152813),

Measurements:

·       Balmy Blue Card Base:  5 ½” x 8 ½”; score at 4 ¼”

·       Everyday Skies DSP:  4” x 5 ¼”, ¾” x 4” strip, and ¾” x 5 ¼” strip for inside

·       Balmy Blue Cardstock:  punch one 2” Circle and one 2 3/8” Circle

·       Calypso Coral Cardstock:  punch one 2 3/8” Circle

·       Basic White Cardstock:  punch one 1 ¾” circle, two 2” circles, scrap piece, and a 4” x 5 ¼” piece for the inside

 Instructions:

 1.    Cut each piece listed in the measurements above.

2.    Score Balmy Blue Cardstock at 4 ¼”; fold in half to form the card base.

3.    Adhere Everyday Skies DSP layer to the card front.

4.    Adhere ¾” x 4” strip of the reverse side of the Everyday Skies DSP layer to the card front.

5.    Punch Circles from Basic White Cardstock; stamp seagulls onto the punched Circles using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink then color with Stampin’ Blends.

6.    Adhere stamped Basic White Circles to corresponding punched Balmy Blue & Calypso Coral Circles; adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

7.    Stamp the box of French fries onto a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock; color with Stampin’ Blends then fussy cut using Paper Snips and adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

8.    Adhere Basic White Cardstock panel inside card.

9.    Adhere a ¾” x 5 ¼” strip of Everyday Skies DSP to the inside Basic White Cardstock panel.

Here is my card -

I love so much about this - the beautiful two step flowers (Gorgeous Grape and Garden Green) - the script on the sentiment and the ombre coloring. To get the ombre effect I used my Blender Brush and Gorgeous Grape ink and added it to my Basic White cardstock embossed layer - starting at the bottom and letting it fade out as you go up.

Then to complete the card, I used these dies -

Share it Sunday! Free tutorial - Watercolor Melon!

·       Stamp Pads: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (132708); Shaded Spruce (147088); Sweet Sorbet (159216)

·       Stampin’ Blends: Light Lemon Lolly (161673); Light Granny Apple Green (154885)

·       Tools: Bone Folder (102300); Paper Snips (103579); Paper Trimmer (152392),

 Measurements:

 ·       Granny Apple Green: 5-1/2 x 6-1/2”

·       Sweet Sorbet: 1-3/4” x 5”

·       Basic Black: 3” x 3”

·       Basic White:  4” x 5-1/4”, 2-3/4” x 2-3/4”, 2” x 5-1/4”

·       Thick White: Scraps for stamped images

 Instructions:

 1.    Score the Granny Apple Green CS piece along the 6-1/2” edge at 2-1/4”; fold and burnish.

2.    Glue a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Basic White CS to the center inside back of the card base.

3.    Stamp the Sweet Sorbet CS piece randomly with seed images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Glue to the center of a 2” x 5-1/4” piece of Basic White CS.  Mount to the center of the front flap of the card base.

4.    Stamp a sentiment of choice in the center of a 2-3/4” square piece of Basic White CS, favored toward the right edge.  Glue the white square to the center of the Basic Black 3” square.  Wrap a 11” piece of ribbon around the left end of the square; tie a knot in the top corner.  Mount the left back side of the square over the center right edge of the front card base flap.

5.    Stamp two (2) half-size watermelon slices, one (1) quarter size watermelon slice, and the top 1” of one (1) quarter size watermelon slice in Sweet Sorbet ink on Thick White CS. Stamp below each piece with coordinating rind stamp image in Shaded Spruce ink.  Hand-trim each watermelon piece.

6.    Stamp one (1) full watermelon and five (5) leaf images in Shaded Spruce ink on Thick White CS. If desired, color over each image with Stampin’ Blends.  Hand-trim each image. Note that three of the leaf images have been trimmed to separate the small and large leaves.

7.    Decorate the front and inside of the card base with stamped watermelon and leaf images as shown. The full watermelon, the leaf and quarter watermelon slice at the top of the front card flap are mounted Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Make sure that the half-slice watermelon image on the inside of the card does not show on the front when the card is closed.   

8.    Randomly add two green In Color Pearls on the inside bottom right corner and one to the left of the leaf in the top right corner on the inside of the card base.
