Every day it's a getting closer - yes - I mean Christmas.  Yesterday I picked up the very last of everything I need for gifts (I hope) - and now am concentrating on wrapping.  I've been busy making some homemade gift tags to put on my packages and wanted to share a some quick, but cute ones.
These tags use the "In the Woods" Framelit dies from page 27 of the Holiday Catalog - and thankfully these (and the coordinating set) are on the carry-over list so will still be available.  I especially love this tree die, as it not only cuts out the tree - but also all those little parts that pop out.
You can see in the picture above that I added just a bit of Wink of Stella to the popped out branches to mimic the look of snow sparkling on the branches.  And below you can see the back of the tag - where the branches hang over a bit - giving the tag some fun character.
I punched the tops of the tags using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch from the annual catalog - threaded through a bit of the Merry Merlot ribbon and tied a bow with our braided linen trim.  Of course I had to add a little more bling by using Silver Shimmer paper for the snow drift.
The 'To: and From:" are from the "Bring on the Presents" set from page 16 of the Holiday catalog - although you could do the tags without adding that.  I made all four of these in less than a 1/2 hour -so it's a great little project to get your tags done and on your packages.  If you are interested in any of these items you can place an order at www.stampingwithmaureen.stampinup.net and click on SHOP NOW.  Be sure to use the Hostess code below -
