April: Inked Occasions

Can you believe this beautiful kit - I LOVE alcohol ink designs and these are breathtaking.  Here are the two alternatives I came up with this month.  Hope you like them.
Just to let you know - these bases are so beautiful that I had to cut them all in half to double the cards I can make -  I just don't want to waste that beauty on the backside of a card lol.  So here is what I created with just one base - cutting the front and backsides down to 4" x 5 1/4" each.
My first card is layered onto a base of Basic Black - I am amazed at how the black sets off the bright colors.

I first cut out two butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies dies; and a stitched circle from the Unbounded Love dies using Basic Black.  I stamped a sentiment from the Unbounded Love set onto one of the kits die cuts with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  These were then layered together.  I also die cut the oval shape right out of my layer (also a die from Unbounded Love dies); pulled the edges up a bit, and popped it up on dimensionals.  Then added the butterflies and three of the Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots.  You can see I used one of the little strips I cut from the layer to my envelope edge along with the sentiment.  Here's how I finished the inside - with another little strip.

My second card uses the other layer I cut and it is placed onto a Summer Splash base.  On the base I scored at 1" and folded that back - then cut my layer to 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" giving me two pieces - one for the outside going under the flap; and one for the right side of the inside.  For this card I used a sentiment from the kit stamped onto a layer from the kit using Summer Splash and I cut a small part of one of the sillouette pieces for an accent - with a few of the Rainbow Adhesive Dots.
For this one I used the envelope from the kit - which is just amazing - along with the same sentiment.
Here is the inside -
I just love the way both of these turned out and am looking forward to finishing the rest of the kit.
I hope you've enjoyed these alternative ideas.  Now be sure to hop through the rest to get some more great inspiration.  Don't forget to leave a comment, as we'd love to hear what you think.
