Hi all - if you want creative posts - I will try to get some in - but over the next 10 days I'm going to be posting about the awesome Stampin' Up! Maui Elite trip I was able to earn thanks to all my wonderful and supportive customers and team. I did this for Greece two years ago, and still love those posts - so please - bear with me.
Day 5 - Wednesday, May 19, 2021
Today is another day with the rental car - so we headed up to the west (drier) side of the Island to Lahaina -
Even though it was dry - right along the coast as we went along it go more lush and green right along the coast and the water was every shade of blue you can imagine.
We decided to have lunch at a local favorite in Lahaina - the Cool Cat Cafe - it's been featured on the Food Network and is known for having the best burgers on Maui! Took us about 20 steps to get up to the restaurant - but I did it, and look at the view -
The burgers were really delicious - Paul got one of their most popular The Duke with bacon strips, melted cheese, onion rings and their special BBQ sauce; and I chose the Blue Suede Shoes with bacon, blue cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and sweet Maui Onion. We decided to cut them in half and just share - and they were both so yummy! Here is the front of their menu - just a fun place to eat -
Then right across the street was this local tourist attraction - the Banyan Tree - shading almost an acre of the park here and reaching upward toward 60', this Banyan tree is the larges in the United States. It spreads by way of aerial roots, which reach to the ground, and grow into think new trunks, supporting the tree's wide canopy. It is amazing to see.
This picture give you more of the full affect -
On the way back to the hotel in Wailea we passed a ton of these trees - our shuttle driver told us they call them Hawaiian Christmas trees - very pretty!
And found this lovely little park to sit and relax and watch the surfers - even got a little bit of rain while we were there - Came back to the room for these amazing Pillow Gifts - a beach tote, sunscreen, some fun stamping products and a solar charger for our phones -
Dinner was wonderful - we ate at Tommy Bahamas just down the street from our hotel -
Paul had the parmesan crusted chicken breast -
and I had amazing Thai Shrimp and Scallops -After dinner - we put the top down on the rental again and went for a nice ride in the area before calling it a night -
See you tomorrow ~Maureen
