Halloween Treat Bag

Here's our final project from this month's club - simple and sweet - a little treat bag for that special someone.  The polka dots were made by using daubers and Pumpkin pie ink - that simple and you could make them match any color scheme.  I just really love these Chevron bags.

Then we added the cute little Halloween banner to finish it off.  Just fill it with your favorite goodie - and give it away to make someone smile today.  Stop back soon. ~Maureen

Soot Stamping Club Card

How great is this card!!!  We used the skeleton from Toil & Trouble in the Holiday Mini for our soot removal (see yesterday's post for full instructions).  It look so great - almost like an x-ray.  Or like he's coming out of the fog.  Added some washi tape, one of our gems colored black with a sharpie and our chevron ribbon pulled apart for a creepy spider web feel to it.
Here's a close-up of the skeleton - a bit blurry - but you can see those great swirls in the soot again.
Hope you like it.  If you make a card with this technique, be sure to send me a picture of it.  See you soon - Maureen

September SPOOKY Soot Technique

This month for Club we did the Soot stamping technique.  This is just the perfect technique for all those SPOOKY Halloween cards you want to make this time of year.  It is very easy -but be careful - don't want you catching anything on fire.  The set we used to pull of the soot for this image was "Halloween Happiness" from the Holiday Catalog.
Below is a close up of the technique - look at all those cool smokey swirls.  I just love how each time you do it, it looks different.  Very, very cool.
Stop back soon to see the amazing card we made with this technique.  ~Maureen

SPOOKY Banner Class - Part II

So here it is - all completed - and I LOVE it!!  Our SPOOKY banner.
I've done a close up of each letter to show you how we did the individual panels.  Everything is attached to the panels with a hot glue gun.
Here are the two sides of the banner - shown a bit closer!
Next month we'll be doing a THANKFUL banner - let me know if you'd like to join us!!  ~Maureen

Spooky Banner Class - Part I

Last weekend we had a great Banner Class - making SPOOKY Halloween banners using the Banner kit from Stampin' Up!  We decided to change it up a bit from the way it was in the catalog. Here are the ladies making the images that would later be added to the banners.
Amber, Veta and Ginny creating!
They spritzed the different canvas banners with black and orange reinker in alcohol - using the templates that came with the kit.  Here are a few of them waiting to be assembled.
The rosette table was a hit, as the ladies folded and hot glued six rosettes for their banners.  It went so much more smoothly because we used Stampin' Ups! silicone pads.
Sarah, Kandi, Kendra and Kathy hot glue gunning away!
Here's the banner part way through the process - strung on black ribbon with little vanilla, black and orange ribbons tied by each grommet.  Then we added the rosettes and letters that we had sponged with the letter stencils.
Stop back tomorrow to see our completed project and each individual banner up close.  ~Maureen

Crazy Kiddos

Last weekend I watched the King Kids over night while Mommy and Daddy - somehow I missed getting a picture of baby Kyan and they picked him up at the end of the evening.
But the other three stayed and we had a great time.
Here's my three crazy kiddos after hiding in Gramma and Papa's bed - they were just a bundle of energy.

Nothing better than Gramma times!  ~Gramma

Halloween Card from Cards Camp

Today I'm sharing the final card from our September Cards Stamp camp - this one is for Halloween.  It uses the Toil and Trouble set - Basic Black, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla.  The little crow to the left is popped up on dimensionals.  The gems are Stampin' Up! gems colored with a black sharpie.  Framelits made it sooo easy to cut out the words - especially with our new magnetic platform.
We stamped the skull and crossbones on the inside of the card and the envelope.
Really liked the way this card turned out.
Hope you liked it too!!  ~Maureen

So sweet - card from Stamp Camp

Today I'm sharing the second cute card we did at my last Cards Stamp Camp - this one was designed by my daughter Heidi, but it is sooooo my style - clean and simple.  The little lamb is just perfect to welcome that new little baby - and the neutral colors - allow it to by used for boy or girl.
Here's a close up - you can see we ran the Crumb Cake layer through the big shot, and water-colored the little lamb.  Inside is says "welcome baby."
I hope you like it - stop by soon to see the third card we made.  ~Maureen

MORE Coffee Cards

So you might remember me sharing these coffee cards a bit back - http://www.crazystampinglady.blogspot.com/2013/09/august-club-hostess-gift.html  - they were such a hit, and I got so much great feedback on them - that I decided to do a very similar card at my September Cards, Cards, Cards stamp camp.
By now, most of you know I am a coffee addict - so I really LOVED making these cards again.  The images are from Pefect Blend, and the coffee splotches - from Gorgeous Grunge.
Really cute huh!?!  Stop back for the next card we made at this Stamp Camp. ~Maureen

Cute and Easy Candy Corn

At my last downline meeting I demonstrated this quick tip for making candy corn for all of those Halloween projects you have planned.  Just take three sizes of circles - punch the smallest in white, the middle size in yellow and the largest in orange.  Glue those layers together as shown - one on top of the next.
Then using your snips, cut the circle into eighths.  Look - voila - adorable candy corn and sooooo very simple.  See what you can create using these and send me a photo or link. Watch for an upcoming project where I use them too!
See you soon ~Maureen

Card Challenge Winner!

So Julie was the winner of our card challenge at this month's downline meeting.  Thanks for driving down to be with us Julie!!  She made this amazing card using the Festive Flurry bundle from the current SU Holiday Catalog, and the Frosted Finishes Embellishment. It looks great here.....
But then look at this detail.  The way she folded the snowflake layer underneath just made it pop and gave it all sorts of dimension.  Love it!!
Thanks for an amazing card Julie!!  ~Maureen

Downline Meeting Project

Each month my downline takes turns doing a project with the group at our monthly meetings.  This month Virginia brought us this adorable stack of books card.  It was the first time some of the demonstrators realized you could feed a strip of DSP from the top into one side of a punch to get the curve on the left.  This is a great project to do to use up all those DSP scraps you all know you have laying around. (You know you have them :)  The sponging around the edges of the layers really defines them as individual books in a stack.
Here is the lovely Virginia holding the card I made.  You can see her sample above was better - my spacing was a little off, but I still liked how it turned out.
A special thanks to Virginia who stepped in to make this project happen for the group - you're the best!!! ~Maureen

Convention Swaps - a little late

So last weekend at my down line meeting we finally finished a couple convention swaps.  I know - crazy huh!?!  The first one is Heidi's card swap - they were not put together at convention - so finally got done.
The next is my convention gift/swap for my downline - a cute little photo album for all their convention photos.  For this one, then night before convention I realized that half of the cover layouts I did, did not fit in the photo albums I had purchased - so I had to go out and buy new ones when I got back - and finally got them put together.
I also ordered copies of photos I had taken from convention and put them in their albums.  I gave them to those who were present at the meeting, and the rest will get out in the mail soon.  Better late than never, right?!
See you soon!!! ~Maureen

Special Day with a Special Boy!

Last weekend I had my Gramma Day with Prince.  Lunch - his choice - In and Out!!  Cheeseburger, fries and lemonade - yum!
That face looks happy to me :)
Then to the movies to see "Planes" - very cute movie.  In the atrium they had an Iron Man and Super hero display, so we had to snap a picture.  But Prince was glad I did it quickly as he said the Iron Man behind him was "creeping" him out.
Then we stopped for an ice cream (mint w/rolos) and relaxed in a beautiful shady spot. But it was 90 degrees and the ice cream was melting fast - so headed home as he wanted to save some for later.

It was a wonderful day - he is such a great kid - mature, interesting and always so polite.  I just love spending time with him.  Thanks for a great day Prince!

Finally I had to snap this picture of Paisley at the house making dinner when we got there.  She had told me she was going to start cooking more with her Mommy to learn how - that's how my girls learned - so it was great seeing her cooking away.  Until next time! ~Gramma

Paper Pumpkin - Part II

So here are the last few projects we made with Paper Pumpkin this month - we punched the flowers out of the area between the pennants and added little gems.  I love the toothpick flag!
And then three others - a 2/4/6/8 box made out of one of the card bases; a treat holder with adorable flower tag (flowers punched out of a card base) and a matching decorated clothespin.  How cute!!
Beginning with September's Paper Pumkpin I am offering a kit/instructions for purchase each month - new projects with each Paper Pumpkin kit.  Watch for full details this weekend.  ~Maureen

Paper Pumpkin - Part I

Each month Heidi and I have been doing a Paper Pumpkin class for our customers who subscribe under us - check it out at www.mypaperpumpkin.com and sign up for yourself.  So today I am sharing the first two cards we made this month.  The one below is exactly as you would make it with the instructions from the kits (which by the way came with enough materials to make four of these plus the ink spots - cool.)
But then we use the rest of the kit to come up with other creative ways of using the rest of the materials with just a few additions in a kit we provide - this card is transformed into birthday wishes - using the little pennants as birthday hats!
Tomorrow I'll be sharing the rest of the projects we made with the kit so stop back soon.  ~Maureen

First "Days" of school...

Today I wanted to share the first day of school pics of my grandkids - some started last week and some this - but they are now all officially back in school.
Paisley (5th Grade) and Prince (3rd Grade)
And their cool backpacks.
Makai (Kindergarten) and Kamili (2nd Grade)
Kamili and Makai with Zavian - who actually started preschool a couple days later.
No picture of Zamarah or Kyan this time - as they are not in school this Fall.  But for the ones that are I pray for a wonderful day of growing and learning - both in academics and character.  Love you all, Gramma
