So I love a monochromatic look. If you have trouble color-matching - this is the way to go. Plus I think it is great for masculine cards - so that is the route I took. I chose to use all shades of browns for my projects -
I started by creating this card- it uses White, Espresso and Crumb Cake cardstock for the layers. I used the same colors of ink as well as Soft Suede, and created a collage type image using stamps from the Beautiful World stamp set as well as the crossed line image from the Comfort & Hope stamp sets in our annual catalog (NOTE: both of these sets will be retiring May 3 - and are on the last chance list from Stampin' Up!). The layer was then sponge around the edges with Crumb Cake and some ink sponged on some of the images to give it a vintagey look.I also carried that look through on the envelope and the inside of the card. To complete it, I added some little pearls colored with a Soft Suede blend to the centers of the compasses; as well as added some of the beautiful sparkly Fine Art ribbon in the current Jan - June Mini Catalog.
Then for my 3D project I decorated a phone stand to match. It started out as an inexpensive stand that I purchased from the local Dollar Tree. I traced around it on White cardstock and stamped it to match the card - then cut it out and attached with Tombow glue -Here is what it looked like after - And here it is with my poor hubby's abused phone lol - you can tell it's been dropped and repaired with packing tape (at least not duct tape). I had to use his phone, as mine was being used to take the picture.
I use one of these stands all the time to set my phone on while I listen to podcasts - and I use them for my classes to set my card designs on for people to see while creating. They are very stable - so they work great. So here are the two projects together - Hope you liked my creations - something a little different! Let me know what you think?!
