So I chose to use a stamp set that caught my eye immediately! The "Handmade for You" set. This set meets the Stampin' Up! Angel policy - so if you sell the projects you make and you include one of the two copywrite images on it - you are good!
But more than that I loved the little sayings "handmade for you", "Crafters gonna craft" and "Craft Queen" - how cute are those. I wanted to use them in a project - so I decorated
a little notebook. I am a notebook addict!
A few months back I found these little 6" x 4" pads at a local stationary store - they were 5/$1.00 - so of course I had to have them - Oh the Possibilities!
I started with a strip of Basic Black 4" wide and 8 1/2" long - then scored it at 6" and 6 5/8" along the long side - this made it easy to wrap around and attach with tear tape to the back of the notebook.
Then I got to decorating the layers for the front - a collage of my favorite sayings from the set, then a layer of red and a layer of white with the scissors image at the bottom - I colored the leaves with Old Olive. Next I punched the Crafters gonna craft saying out using our postage stamp punch and two additional black punched out pieces, which I cut in half - one horizontal and the other vertically.
This allowed me to build a frame around my sentiment - by adding the pieces to the back on top, bottom and each side.
I finished it off by putting the layers together on the cover. Adding a little flower punched from the Confetti Flowers Border Punch - and adding a little gem. Then added the Playful Pets Ribbon/Twine combo at the top in a bow.
Here the notebook is opened -
It would be a great little gift for any crafter - but this one - I think it's gonna stay on my desk and be mine :) After all - Crafters Gonna Craft!

Such a darling notebook! Thanks for sharing a fun use for this stamp set, other than to comply with the Angel Policy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue!
ReplyDeleteI love the decorated notebook! And the explanation of the Angel Policy, I often forget to mention that. You are right, this is a great gift and I’m glad you are going to “gift” it to yourself. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would have the notebook on the table next to me so that I could keep looking at while I work! Great project
ReplyDeleteGreat project Maureen. I just love black, red and white together. Very clever use of the set and perfect for any crafter.
ReplyDeleteMaureen, I have never been a notebook/tablet kind of person, but this sure is a cute one. I think I might need one now!!
ReplyDeleteMaureen, I love this project you did! How fun! I would keep it as well! So cute.
ReplyDeleteGreat project! I would love to have this notebook on my desk, I'm always jotting notes on random scraps of paper that seem to go astray. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love notebooks too! I haven't made any in a while...so you've inspired me to make some! That set was on my first order, but haven't used it yet. Now I have a great project to make...thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love your notebook! It's a perfect size (and design!) to have handy in your craft space :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun project!
