Paper Pumpkin Possibilities - Filled With Joy - November 2024

Welcome to our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop!  I am so excited to be a part of this team of hoppers sharing alternative designs for each month's Paper Pumpkin kit.  This month's kit is all about vintage Christmas stockings and more!!  Hopefully what we show will inspire you.  Be sure to hop all the way through to see what this amazing team has come up with!
Here is the unboxing video - so you can see all that is included and how the kit can come together.
~*~*~*~*~
November: Filled with Joy
Info on Kit Contents:
Celebrate Christmas with adorable stockings and gift tags!
• Makes 8 projects: 8 stockings with 8 gift tags
• Precut paper pieces

• Safety pins and specialty gold foil
• Coordinating colors: Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Poppy Parade
(Classic Stampin’ Spot), Shaded Spruce, Very Vanilla
~*~*~*~*~
This is just such a fun kit - I love the vintage feel of everything in the kit - brings me right back to my childhood (that was a long time ago - lol).
My first project uses the stocking.  I decided not to use the precut images for mine, and instead decorated a fun tag with products outside the kit - I used the tag from the Merriest Trees dies - as I needed something long enough for names.
I then use different elements from the Textured Florals dies for the elements as I added as well as circle punched from a regular office punch.  Tied on Pool Party PomPom ribbon tied with some Real Red/White Bakers Twine.  I love how these looked filled with some treats and there are 8 in the pack - one for each of my 8 grandkids!
To make the name I used our Mini Alphabet dies.  I run a bunch of them through in different colors and this is how I store them - in a small container from the Dollar Store.
I do really love all the vintage elements that came in the kit, so since I didn't use on my stocking - I decided to use on Christmas cards.  This one is a base of Shaded Spruce with an embossed layer (using the Forever Plaid 3D EF) in Moody Mauve and the elements die cut in Shaded Spruce.  Then added some of the tags and ornament elements.  Final touch were some of my Neutrals sequins.  How fun and retro is this.
I love how everything turned out, and will used every element of this kit!

I hope you've enjoyed these alternative ideas.  Now be sure to hop through the rest to get some more great inspiration.  Don't forget to leave a comment, as we'd love to hear what you think.

Simple Sketch #20 Challenge - November 2024

Join me for some FUN! Each month (almost) I will be doing a new sketch challenge around the last week to 10 days of the month.

A Monthly Sketch Challenge!
Here is the sketch! Use it as your inspiration - your card should contain all the layers, but you can take some liberty with them. Add any embellishments you wish.
You might recognize this from my FB Live Video 11/22/2024 - here is the card I created -
Just use the sketch and have fun.  The rest is up to you - just try and have similar layers!  Feel free to even change the size of the card or the orientation.    Here are the measurements I used -

My measurements –

Base 5 ½ x 8 ½ scored at 4 ¼” vertical

5 of Layer 1 – 1” x 4”

Layer 2 – 2 ¼” x 3 ¼”

Layer 3 – 2” x 3”

Post the card(s) you make in the comments of my Facebook Business page HERE, find the pinned Sketch challenge post at the top of my page (might be under featured) and be sure to post by 11/30/2024, so they can be entered in my drawing on 12/1/2024. All card pictures must be posted by midnight 11/30/2024. Each unique card pic is an entry - and I will give away a fun prize. Have fun with this - can't wait to see what you make!

I hope you play along - have fun with it - take some creative license - just use the sketch as your inspiration!!

Paper Crafting Blog Hop November 2024 - December Holidays!

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for November 2024 - featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. We have a wide array of projects and design styles to share with you this month - and every one of them is spotlighting projects for December holidays!

~*~*~*~*~

I so love this time of year - November for Thanksgiving and December for Christmas.  Lately I've been working on a few Home Decor Items for the holidays and today, I'll share one with you.  I love covering wood elements with our awesome Designer Series Paper (DSP) - so here is one of my recent creations -

It's really so easy - but I'm including a step by step tutorial for this incase you have not tried before.

Step 1 - the first thing is to purchase (or create if you do woodworking) your wood piece.  These are available at most hobby stores in many shapes - so for this project I chose stars.  Lay the wood piece onto the DSP you plan to use and trace around it with a pencil.  I used our "Take A Bow" DSP - which has a ton of coordinating designs.
Step 2 - Using your paper snips - cut out the image - cut just inside of your pencils lines to have the best fit.
Step 3 - adhere the DSP to the wood piece - Tombow liquid multi-purpose glue works great for this.  It's very strong, and it gives you some wiggle room to make sure the DSP and wood line up.
Step 4 - You can then trim off any extra DSP hang-over pieces and use a sanding block to smooth out all the edges.  It's best to hold your wood piece level and sand down from the front to the back of the wood piece.  This causes any excess DSP to be sanded off.
Step 5 - Then to camoflauge any imperfections in the edges, I used a dauber and added some Real Red Ink to all of the edges.  This also makes the DSP pop.  Then I cut out letters with the Mini Alphabet die to make my words to add on cardstock layers.
Step 6 - Next I took a piece of SU White Frayed Ribbon (#158138) on the Clearance Rack, and cut a long piece of it to become the base for my stars. (any coordinating substantial ribbon will do).  I added Tear and Tape to the ribbon to adhere a jump ring at the top for hanging.
Step 7 -

Step 8 - Finally I used the Tear and Tape again to adhere each of the three stars I made to the ribbon.
My Finished project - I love how it turned out and will be displaying it with pride this holiday season.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts and comments!
