Welcome to our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop!  I am so excited to be a part of this team of hoppers sharing alternative designs for each month's Paper Pumpkin kit.  This month's kit is all about the beauty of birds!!  Hopefully what we show will inspire you.  Be sure to hop all the way through to see what this amazing team has come up with!

Info on Kit Contents:

Talk about a wonderful kit - this is it!  Everything about these cards shouts beauty and elegance.  The tri-fold design and foiling make them extra special for the holidays.

I didn't really want to change the cards, so instead decided to focus on alternatives using the discarded punched out layers from the kit cards, as well as the coordinating catalog products and the add-on dies!  Here's what I came  up with - 

Card 1 - 

For this card I used a base of Night of Navy and stamped the tree bough from the set in opposite corners tone on tone.  Then I layered the insert part of the card from the kit at an angle.  Next I die cut one of the tags using the add on dies from Peach Pie CS and added the Merry cut from the dies in Cherry Cobbler onto it.

The birds are die cut from the Nests of Winter DSP and I was able to use a partial edge piece because it fit on the tag perfectly - tied a Shaded Spruce ribbon with linen thread to it - and popped this entire layer up on dimensionals.  The Christmas as stamped with the PP stamp set and also popped up on the front.  Added a few Iridescent Foil Gems to finish it off. Here's the inside, because of the dark colored base I added a layer of Basic White -

Card 2 -

My second card starts with a Pool Party base and the same tree bough in the corners and the Merry Christmas with Shaded Spruce ink.  The insert that was punched out from the other card in the kit became my layer.  I used the cardinal image from the PP stampset; and the bough image from the Winterly Tree Top stamp set - both stamped in Memento ink and colored with assorted Stampin' Blends.  This entire layer was also popped up on dimensionals.

I love the foiling on the edge of the piece that gets punched out - it really adds to this card.  With a linen thread double bow and some Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels - it was done.  Here is how I finished the inside of this one -

More than Autumn – October 2024

·       Stamp Pads: Pecan Pie (161665); Pumpkin Pie (147086); Crushed Curry (147087)

·       Tools: Paper Trimmer (152392); Paper Snips Scissors (103579); Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Deckled Circles Dies (162286); Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends (161674); Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends (154897); Basic Black Stampin Write Marker (162481); Small Blending Brushes (160518)

·       Miscellaneous: Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Stampin’ Seal (152813); Mini Glue Dots (103683); Center Stripe Ribbon (162755); Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive Backed Dots (164204); Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder (159847)

Measurements:

·       Pecan Pie – 8 ½ x 5 ½, scored on the 8 ½ inch side at 4 ¼, 4 x 5 ¼ for embossing

·       Basic White – scrap for whipped cream on pie

·       Very Vanilla – 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 (2), scrap for pie and sentiment

·       Designer Series Paper – 3 x 3

Instructions:

1.    Fold and burnish card base with bone folder.

2.    Adhere one of the Very Vanilla panels to the front of the card.

3.    Run the 4 x 5 ¼ piece of Pecan Pie CS through your machine with the Leaf Fall embossing folder.

4.    Take the ribbon and attach to the embossed CS with tape. Adhere over the very vanilla.

5.    Make a small bow with another piece of ribbon.

6.    Stamp on very vanilla with Pecan Pie ink the pie and the sentiment.

7.    Color the pumpkin pie using the Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ blends and the Pecan Pie Stampin’ blends for the crust. Die cut with the coordinating dies.

8.    Cut out a leaf from pumpkin pie, crushed curry and pecan pie, try and keep the 2 pieces together. If they won’t stay add a small piece of tape on the back.

9.    Using the coordinating inks, blend on just a little color on leaves to give some depth.

10. Die cut a circle with the Deckled Circle dies using the 4^th from the smallest. Also cut out the small, whipped cream from basic white. Draw on the lines with the Basic Black Stampin’ write marker. Glue the whipped cream and the pumpkin pie together.

11. Using dimensionals adhere the leaves and pumpkin pie on the DSP circle.

12. Using dimensionals adhere the circle over the ribbon.

13. Using a glue dot adhere the bow next to the pumpkin pie.

14. Cut down the sentiment with paper trimmer and the cut at an angle with scissors.

15. Using Pecan Pie blend make the … after the sentiment and adhere with dimensionals in the top left corner.

16. Scatter gems as desired.

17. Adhere the other piece of very vanilla on the inside and finished as desired.

Simple Sketch #19 Challenge - October 2024

 

Join me for some FUN! Each month (almost) I will be doing a new sketch challenge around the last week to 10 days of the month.

A Monthly Sketch Challenge!

Here is the sketch! Use it as your inspiration - your card should contain all the layers, but you can take some liberty with them. Add any embellishments you wish.

You might recognize this from my FB Live Video 10/25/2024 - here is the card I created -

 Just use the sketch and have fun.  The rest is up to you - just try and have similar layers!  Feel free to even change the size of the card or the orientation.  The coloring on the sketch, is just to show the layers - use any colors you wish!!  Here are the measurements I used -

My measurements –

Base 5 ½ x 8 ½ scored at 4 ¼” vertical

Layer 1 – 4” x 5 1/4” (embossed)

Banner 1 – 1” x 5”

Banner 2 – 2” x 3 1/2”

Banner 3 – 2” x 3 1/4”

 Scraps for punches and or die cuts

Ribbon or twine

Winterly Tree Tops

Supplies:

 ·       Stamp Sets: Winterly Tree Tops (164184)

·       Card Stock and Paper: Moody Mauve Card Stock (161723); Basic White Card Stock (159276); Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper (164183)

·       Stamp Pads: Moody Mauve Ink (161649)

·       Tools: Labeled with Love  Punch (163569)

·       Miscellaneous: Adhesive Backed Pearl Trio (163319); Stampin’ Seal Adhesive (152813)

 Measurements:

·       Moody Mauve Card Stock: 4 ¼” x 5 ½”

·       Basic White Card Stock: 3 ¾” x 4” for inside

·       Basic White Cardstock: scrap to punch for sentiment

·       Nests of Winter DSP: 4” x 11” scored at 1 ½” and 5 ¾”; and a ½” x 4” strip

 Instructions:

 1.    Fold the DSP with the 1 ½” score folded back onto the front of the card and 5 ¾” score folded to the inside of the card, this kind of forms a backward “Z”.  Attach the back of this piece to the Moody Mauve Card Stock base with adhesive of choice.

2.    Adhere the Designer Series Paper strip to the larger Basic White layer; and adhere this inside of the card leaving an even border top, left and bottom.  This way when the card is closed, you should not see it.

3.    Stamp your sentiment using Moody Mauve Ink onto the smaller piece of Basic White and punch with the Labeled with Love punch.  Adhere this to the folded back front panel, making sure adhesive is only on the part that touches the panel.

4.    Adhere three of the Adhesive Backed Pearl Trio (pink) pearls to the card.

5.    This is a simple card, easy to mass produce and showcases our beautiful Designer Series Paper.  See inside of card below when open.
