~*~*~*~*~
It's that time of year - Spring, Flowers, and before you know it Mother's Day!  So our group this month is helping you get ahead of the game with some wonderful cards and 3D items you can do now for Mom - or any special woman in your life.  I decided to work with the Timeless Tulips set from the current SU mini catalog.

So, I'll be the first to admit I struggled with this set initially.  I LOVE tulips and thought what a great set - but my first several tries were less than awesome lol!  So a couple tips - 1) make sure your stamp pads are not too juicy, if they are you lose all that beautiful detail.  2)  Get the 2-tone look I did above by adding some darker ink with a sponge to your stamp after you have inked with the lighter color - I think these tips made all the difference on my projects today, and I love them!

Above are the light and dark colors I used for the leaves and the flowers, plus the great punch that comes in this bundle.
So for my card I just wanted to make a beautiful Mother's Day bouquet - so I stamped and punched and fussy cut a bunch of flowers and leaves.  After stamping the stems, I added the flowers and leaves to the card with glue dots at the bottom of each - this allowed the flowers to pop out a bit at the top and give the bouquet some great dimension.  You can see that more closely below.
I added a bow made with the new ribbon combo from SU's Ornate Garden suite.  Then added some colored gems - I always keep a bunch of colored gems on hand - both the ones from SU; but also some clear ones that I have colored with blends like these.
This card is a bit of a fun fold with the front layers overlapping the inside of the card a bit, but not a completely full front.  Here's the inside sentiment and the coordinating envelope.
My 3D item is a cute little decorated Dollar store candle.  I just wrapped it with a couple layers of coordinating cardstock.  Then added a mini bouquet and gems to the front - as well as the Happy Mother's Day sentiment.
Here's another angle where you can see the sentiment better -
This is just a fun little card and candle gift that you would change up for most any occasions.  But I especially love it for Mother's Day.
