SF May 2019 Father's Day Blog Hop!

Lasts month I shared about missing my Mom on Mother's day - well the same goes for Father's day.  My dad passed away 42 years ago, and I still think of him so often and with loving memories.  I was so blessed with two wonderful parents.  But I still have some awesome fathers in my life - my hubby and my two sons-in-law, Robert and Aaron.  Blessed yet again!  My project today was mostly inspired by and for my husband, Paul.  He worked for Harley-Davidson for many years before our retirement - and has always had a love of fine motorcycles!
First the card - this was made with our retiring set - One Wild Ride.  I really hate to see this set go, and am sure I will hold on to my personal set for quite a while, as it is an awesome set.  I just repeated the motorcycle image for the background, stamping on full one toward the center as a bit of a focal point.  To direct your eyes in toward the motorcycle, I did add some texture to the edge with a stamp from the set - using gray and giving it a bit of a border.
You can see how I finished the envelope above and the inside of the card below.  I also used the "Happy Father's Day" image from our current sent - Geared Up Garage that will be returning in the 2019 Annual catalog.  Also a great, masculine set, and the ribbon from that coordinating suite of products - which unfortunately is retiring.
As my 3D project I choose to make a coordinating little treat box using the 2-4-6-8 box pattern here - (sorry a bit blurry if you need it better - let me know and I can email to you) -
This box will be filled with pistachios, as those are Paul's favorite.
Everything is adhered to the front of the box with snail - except, I popped up the motorcycle on dimensionals.  I am now thinking what a cute favor this would have made for his retirement party - but alas - I did not think of that then, lol!
I hope you enjoyed these projects and got some inspiration for creating some special items for the fathers in your life.  I would love it, if you would leave me a comment below.  Don't forget to click through on each name below to see even more wonderful Posts with a Father's Day theme.  See you soon with more ideas! ~Maureen

  5. The Wild Ride stamp set truly is a perfect set for given the recipient worked at Harley Davidson! I love the box and the instructions as this would be easy to pull together for many occasions!
