Saying Farewell to Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper

Today - I'm going to focus on a beautiful set of Designer Series Paper that we will be losing when the new catalog starts June 4.  Petal Promenade on page 190 of our Annual catalog has been one of my favorits this catalog - and well used by me.   Below are a few of the projects I've made with it.  First I am showing a center pop up card - this is made with a strip of designer series paper folded and decorated.  You can get two our of 1 piece of 12x12" DSP.
We made these in our Technique club - and they turned out beautifully using the coordinating Beautiful Promenade stamp set on page107 of the catalog -that fortunately is not being retired.
Here's a side view so you can see how the card looks when closed up.
I also made this traveling stamp kit filled with adhesives, etc., for my sister-in-law for her birthday.  I lined one of our full size wide stamp cases with the paper, then decorated with her personalized label.
On the back I cut a strip of the ruler from the edge of our Paper Pumpkin crafting sheets, and attached it, so she can measure as she travels and crafts.
I have also been making these explosion boxes for my hostesses.  The flower on top is made using the Blossom Builder punch from page 211 of our current catalog - and this punch is being retired with the new catalog June 4.
Then I decorated the rest of the box with the same paper -
and inside is a gift for them - a pretty matching candle.
Finally - here is another hostess gift I have made - it is a post-it note holder and pen to put on your desk or near your phone.  This one uses the same DSP for the base.
It is a 5x7" acrylic frame - decorated and laying on it's side - so pretty.
Hope you enjoyed these projects and I encourage you to take another look at some of our current products that will soon be gone.  ~Maureen

Saying Farewell to Made to Bloom

So, Stampin' Up! kits are wonderful!  We've been focusing a lot these past months on #simplestamping and these hit that nail on the head.  Each catalog we offer several different kits and there is always at least one that I love and this past annual catalog it was Made to Bloom! These are perfect for beginners - but still beautiful enough for the avid stamper.
I loved this one so much that I offered two classes with it and my customers loved it too - here's a peek at the card bases and envelope colors.
The fun thing about this kit is that after you make up all the cards you can put them in this beautiful fold up plastic box with the included belly band and it's ready for gift giving.
Below you can see the back and the detail printed on the box.
Here is card 1 from the all inclusive set, which includes several different amazing sentiments.

Here is card design 2 -
and card design 3 -
The kit makes 12 full size cards - 4 each of the 3 designs - and all 12 fit in the box when completed - though you could keep a few for yourself :)  I hope you enjoyed seeing these, and if you'd like to own this kit - get it now, as it is only available while supplies last and the SU site says supplies are low!  ~Maureen

Saying Goodbye to some Favorites

Pretty much for the rest of this month I am going to be focusing on retiring items from our current catalogs.  Everything I show is ONLY available while supplies last and will all be gone when the new catalog starts on June 4 - so don't hesitate if there is some thing you want to get your hands on before it is gone.  Here are a few favorites of mine that are leaving -
Card 1 - was made with the Wonderful Romance set from page 11 of our current Occasions catalog.  This was the first suite of products I purchased from that catalog - I loved everything about it.  Most everything is now sold out - but this beautiful stamp set is still available.  This card was colored with our blends - and for some reason it just reminds me of Ireland - I guess it's all that beautiful green.
Card 2 - This is another set I am so surprised is going away - it is the Bloom by Bloom set from page 25 of the Occasions catalog.  I loved it right away, as it is full of images that just need to be stamped - no coloring.  Don't get me wrong - I love to color, but I know now everyone does, and for some thing quick and easy - this is the kind of stamp you want.  It doesn't come with sentiments - but pairs easily with almost any sentiment you might have.  Here I took a sentiment from Friendly Expressions in our Annual catalog page 54 - and guess what - this set is also retiring.  I thought the bold sentiment with those bold images was the perfect match!
Card 3 - Finally today, I am sharing a card made with the Oh So Eclectic stamp set from page 156 of the Annual catalog and the matching thinlit dies - Eclectic Layers - both of which are retiring.  Everyone who knows me knows, I've never met a flower I did not like :)  And I just thought these were great!  But really makes me sad is losing those amazing thinlits, they not only cut out the images - but just look at that beautiful punched background that the Lipstick cardstock is showing through.  So sad to see that go.
I hope you liked some of these ideas - if there are any products here on you have to have list - be sure to go to my website NOW!  ~Maureen

SF May 2019 Father's Day Blog Hop!

Lasts month I shared about missing my Mom on Mother's day - well the same goes for Father's day.  My dad passed away 42 years ago, and I still think of him so often and with loving memories.  I was so blessed with two wonderful parents.  But I still have some awesome fathers in my life - my hubby and my two sons-in-law, Robert and Aaron.  Blessed yet again!  My project today was mostly inspired by and for my husband, Paul.  He worked for Harley-Davidson for many years before our retirement - and has always had a love of fine motorcycles!
First the card - this was made with our retiring set - One Wild Ride.  I really hate to see this set go, and am sure I will hold on to my personal set for quite a while, as it is an awesome set.  I just repeated the motorcycle image for the background, stamping on full one toward the center as a bit of a focal point.  To direct your eyes in toward the motorcycle, I did add some texture to the edge with a stamp from the set - using gray and giving it a bit of a border.
You can see how I finished the envelope above and the inside of the card below.  I also used the "Happy Father's Day" image from our current sent - Geared Up Garage that will be returning in the 2019 Annual catalog.  Also a great, masculine set, and the ribbon from that coordinating suite of products - which unfortunately is retiring.
As my 3D project I choose to make a coordinating little treat box using the 2-4-6-8 box pattern here - (sorry a bit blurry if you need it better - let me know and I can email to you) -
This box will be filled with pistachios, as those are Paul's favorite.
Everything is adhered to the front of the box with snail - except, I popped up the motorcycle on dimensionals.  I am now thinking what a cute favor this would have made for his retirement party - but alas - I did not think of that then, lol!
I hope you enjoyed these projects and got some inspiration for creating some special items for the fathers in your life.  I would love it, if you would leave me a comment below.  Don't forget to click through on each name below to see even more wonderful Posts with a Father's Day theme.  See you soon with more ideas! ~Maureen
