Prize #9 - Package of Pillow Boxes. Used in today's project -
~*~*~*~*~
FUN project today - I have 8 (count 'em) 8 grandkids and they all wanted gift cards for Christmas. So I had to find a fun way to "gift" them. And I did - I made these adorable gift card holders using Stampin' Ups! printed pillow boxes. I just decorated them - added some tissue paper, candies and the gift cards and closed up and tied shut.If you don't have SU's pillow boxes you can still make your own. Just use the template below -you can make them as large or small as you want, then trace on your own cardstock and cut out and score. Be sure to use some extra sticky adhesive along the side where you close it, as it will need to hold up to you filling with goodies!
I used the adorable Santa's Workshop DSP - cutting 6" by 1 1/2" strips of the striped candy cane paper; and fussy cutting out the little elves and Santas.
For my ribbon - I cut it long enough to wrap around the box and be able to tie on one end. On the back the striped paper the 6" didn't quite meet, so I added adhesive and glued the ribbon over it.
On the front the ribbon went under the stripes, then I popped up the different images on dimensionals. Here is one filled, and I added a little name tag when tying it shut, with some twine.
Super loving how they all look under the tree - and hoping the grandkids will love them too!
