Perfect blend for National Coffee Day!

Okay - so I know I've said it before - but I LOVE COFFEE.  I am so glad they made a day just for me - National Coffee Day!  So I could not resist being a part of this amazing blog hop dedicated to coffee lovers everywhere.
If you page back through my blog you'll see this SU set "Perfect Blend" used many times.  That's because I also LOVE this set.  I use is soooo much that my friends are probably tired of it - but I hope you like it!  Enjoy this blog hop while sipping a few cups of your favorite brew.  See you soon!  ~Maureen

Maureen's Coffee Trivia -
1. When did you start drinking coffee? I grew up with coffee - I remember having coffee at supper with my family when I was very little - it was more milk than coffee with lots of sugar and I LOVED IT!
2. What is favorite brand (you can name up to three). Starbuck's Bold, Bold, Bold
3. What is the most amazing coffee that you had? Remember where and when? That first cup of coffee in the morning every day is amazing to me.
4. If I don't drink my needed coffee, I will... probably be sad.  I really do love coffee - drink it all day every day.  I don't get headaches if I miss a day, and it doesn't keep me awake.  I just love it!

Shaker Card - Advanced Stamp Camp

Here is the first of two cards (two each) that we made at my last Advanced card class.  It's a shaker card.  Here are all the elements before I assembled.  The strip with the punched out stars and the glittery circle were both placed on the inside of the card for accent. (Sorry - forgot to take a picture of that :( ).
Here's the card all completed and ready - the star is embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing - it's basically clear emboss with dazzling diamonds glitter it in.
The shaker has the little punched out stars, plus some dazzling diamonds glitter - so pretty!

Less than three month's till Christmas - time to get "shaking"
See you all soon!! ~Maureen

PERSONAL POST WARNING!

Today just sharing a special Gramma Day I recently had with my lovely grand-daughter Kamili.  I try to do one a month with one grandchild - rotating months - but I think my last one was in Spring - so I am waaaayyyy over due.  And Kamili reminded me - which warmed my heart.  We started the day at Mimi's Cafe where Kamili and I each had quiche.  She is an amazing eater -and out ate me with coffee cake, quiche, bacon, fruit and cranberry juice.
Then we were off to Paint A Dream - she is very creative and usually picks going here as her special thing to do.
This time she picked an adorable little owl to paint for her Mommy.
Then we ran a couple errands and then headed to the house where she and Papa peeled a bunch of Granny Smith apples, and she and I made a wonderful apple crisp - that we ate with vanilla ice cream.  Yum!
She journaled our outing in her own special little journal we made together, and then I took her home.  It was such a nice day with such a sweet girl.  Can't wait till our next day together.  Love you honey!  ~Gramma

Shaving Cream Again....

So after seeing my club samples - click here - one of my downline requested that I demonstrate the shaving cream technique at my quarterly meeting.  Since this is one of my favorite techniques - I was happy to do so.  Simple and fun technique - put a layer of foam shaving cream on a shallow pan - smooth it out with spatula - add a few drops of re-inkers - swirl with a skewer - lay carstock down on shaving cream and press gently so it makes full contact - lift and scrape of excess shaving cream - all that will be left is a beautiful design like those below.
The bottom sheet was the first one I tried, then laid another without doing anything and picked it up and got the lighter one on top - both are really pretty - just different.  These sheets are still sitting on my stamping desk, and maybe this weekend I'll try and make a card or two with them.  If I do I'll be sure to come back and post them.  ~Maureen

Hostess Gift for September

So here's my hostess gift for September - I've been making these each month for my hostesses this year - each month with a different DSP.  These cute little polka dots are from the Motley Monsters DSP - kind of a surprise in the Halloween DSP.
Then I add some of the paper to an RSVP pen - this little pen is an RSVP that actually clicks - it was more difficult to get the paper in - but I love the pen.

Then stamped up some note papers to add to finish it off.  I hope my hostesses liked it.

Then I just wanted to share a great feeling - it's when I'm getting ready for an event - and it's all prepped and ready to go - just like this picture shows.  LOVE that feeling.
I'll be back soon - so stop back!  ~Maureen

Jack O Lantern Surprise

So here's the cute little 3D item we made at club - it's a little treat matchbox.
Here is the diagram for the matchbox base -
Here's the base all put together and taped.
The outside is just a piece of orange cardstock scored, wrapped around and taped.
And then the base will slide in and out.
So you can add a little treat - but the trick is that we added a little pumpkin on a piece of our SU window sheet, so that when you slide the box open......
Voila - he pops up to surprise you - how fun is that!
I will add a note though - when I originally made these - we attached the window sheet with glue dots.  But later even though the glue dots held onto the pumpkin - they popped off the base as it popped up - so I ended up stapling it with our new SU craft stapler - then it worked like a charm.  Pretty cute huh?!?  See you soon  ~Maureen
