March Christmas Card I SAB Style

I had to share today's first Christmas card from my Stamp Camp quick - before Sale-a-bration ends tomorrow.  I challenged myself and just had to create one Christmas card using SAB products and this is what I came up with.  It uses the Decorative Dots embossing folder - that I love, and I will be so sad when it is no longer available after tomorrow.  And then I was able to use the "You're Lovely" set for the flowers.  After coloring the images red; and stamping three more and punching them with the 6 pointed flower on the Boho Blossoms punch - we created this.
Here's a side view to show the dimension of the flowers and the banner.  I was really happy how this turned out.  Hope you like it too!!
Stop back soon to see the 2nd card design we made. ~Maureen

Easter baskets

How adorable are these - little mini Easter baskets.  Had so much fun making these little guys.  I started with a 4 x 5.5" rectangle of Soft Suede cardstock and ran it through the SU Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder - then cut off 1/2" for the handle leave a 4 x 5" piece for the basket.
With the long edge of the rectangle against the top of Simply Scored - I scored at 1,2,3 and 4" then turned the piece so the short side was at the top and scored at 1.5 x 2.5"  Fold on all score lines and cut the flaps that were scored at 1,2,3 and 4" up to the center section.  Then folded the outside one in first and connected, brought up the other flaps and connected.  Cut a circle to cover all the loose ends.  I had punched a small hold in the ends of the handle, then used the crop-a-dile to punch through all the layers of flaps and the folded circle and attached all with the gold brad.
Added a few flowers, some little leaves and some iridescent filler to make this adorable little basket all ready to fill with some yummy treats.

Stinkin' cute!!  Now I have to make up a bunch of these little guys before Easter arrives.  ~Maureen

Easter Bonnet treat cup

A bit ago I saw a cute little bonnet made with our SU Treat Cups - of course when I wanted to find it again - I could not :(  But I think it was similar to this.  We made these at club last week and filled them with some of the Cadbury mini eggs - my fav!!!
You can see there are two layers of yellow cardstock.  The top one has the circle punched out for the treat cup, and the bottom one is in tact so it hold the candy in.
After a little experimentation I realized the glue on the cup does not work to hold it, so I pried it apart and put in some extra glue dots, and that seems to work.
Here is a top view - how adorable is that.  These would be so cute for a favor at Easter - or maybe a Spring Tea.  Thanks for stopping by!! ~Maureen

Rolled Marble Technique HAPPY card!

So here is the card we made with the Rolled Marble Technique.  Those colors and this technique just made me HAPPY so I thought this was the perfect sentiment.  Can't wait to send it off to someone special.
Below I'm showing you the horizontal view so you can see the dimension on this card.  We punched two of the flowers - curled petals and layered them.  Then we curved the banner and put a couple dimensionals stacked under the center of the banner to keep the curve.
Hope it makes  you HAPPY too! ~Maureen

March Technique - Rolled Marbles

This is such a fun technique and we did it at my March Technique Club meeting.  All you need is a container that closes shut, some re-inkers, some marbles and cardstock.  You can see the instructions below on the instruction card.  Shaking those marbles around is a great way to get out some stress and this would certainly be a fun craft to have the kiddos do.
We used Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.  I put four drops of the appropriate re-inker in each box and we made 11 cards - no problem - so a little goes a long way.  Afterward I ran the marbles and containers under water, dried them and they are good as new.   These containers are on the clearance rack dirt cheap while supplies last, you can check them out and order at www.stampingwithmaureen.stampinup.net
Here is the way my piece of cardstock turned out.  Everyone's looked a little different, but equally as great.  I love techniques like this where each time you do it, the results are a little different.  Stop back soon to see what we made with this. ~Maureen

My Little T-baller

So just had to share this picture of my adorable grandson, Zavian.  His first day of T-ball was the same day as his sister, Makai's big baking birthday party.  So immediately after getting home from his game, we moved into party mode - and he got a little over looked.  But I love a man in uniform, and was able to take this quick picture - he is so cute and rockin' that uniform..
Gonna be fun watching him play this season!! Love you, Gramma

3/22/14 Update - got to watch him play this afternoon - he is the youngest on his team -but did great.  He hits the ball - but then forgets to run - so it's cute seeing the smile on his face when his coach says RUN and he gets it.

You are my Sunshine......

I just love this saying and the song .... I think I've sung it to each of my kids and my grandkids at least once ...So was soooo excited to see a stamp set with it.  I've seen cute cards all over the blogs and pinterest made with this set - so I had to come up with my twist on it.
I made the clouds with the top of our cupcake punch and I love the way the sun is popping out and pushing the clouds out of the way.  Hope you like it too!!   ~Maureen

Happy Birthday to my Prince

Today is my Grandson Prince's 9th Birthday - I can hardly believe it - that time has flown by.  Here is the card that I made - it is made with and oldie but goodie set "Bugs and Kisses" which is great for boy cards.  Inside a gift card that will magically turn into Legos when he goes shopping :)
Here is our this little guy 9 years ago - what a cutie!
And here is a more recent picture - still a cutie!!
Prince we love you, and hope your day is great - sending virtual hugs and kisses  ~Gramma and Papa

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

To all my Irish Family and Friend's  -  Happy St. Patty's Day!!  I love this Irish Prayer - sounds like one my relatives would say :)  Corned beef and cabbage is in the crock pot with a can on Guinness - dinner will be yummy!!
Below is a picture of my Shamrock plant.  Heidi got me this beautiful Shamrock mug a couple years ago, but I chipped it.  So saved it for my plant and it looks great!
Since it's a non-stamping post - I thought I also share some beautiful flowers.  Last weekend my brother and his wife brought a bouquet for me, Jenee and Heidi - its a week later and they still look great!  Here is Jenee's bouquet -
 And here's mine -
Heidi took her's home but I'd guess it's just as lovely.  Thanks guys - I love having fresh flowers in the house.
Finally I had to end with an Irish blessing that says it all - at least for me :)
Gotta go have a cup of that coffee!

Makai's Birthday Baking Party

Had to share some great pictures from my Granddaughter Makai's recent birthday party.  Heidi did a Baking party for her.  She has chalkboard paint on a wall inside and was able to do this great sketch of a bakery window on the wall as a back-drop for all the goodies.
As the kids came in they came into individual place settings with their own aprons ready to decorate, their own handmade baker's hats, and their own drink bottle and straw.
Here is the cute garland she made for the front of the table - made with cupcake liners and wooden spoons.
Each girl got to decorate their own little apron with stencils and fabric markers. They also decorated two cupcakes - one to eat and one to take home; and they made their own individual pizzas.
Here's Makai blowing out her candles.  What a sweetie she is!
Among all the other goodies was this cute birthday cake.

At the end each girl went home with a little box with their cupcake in and a cute little goodie bag.  It was a day of fun, chaos and baking - just what a little girls party should be.
Stop back soon.  ~Maureen

Kathy B's shares for Downline

Each quarter at our Downline meetings I encourage the ladies to bring cards and projects they have made; or ones they plan to do soon in a class, etc. - to share with the group.  These are the cards that Kathy B brought to share with the group.  She is always trying something new and I love all the different styles she created.
A close up of two of my favs - I love the watercolor look!

Hostess Gift Set

Today I wanted to share the gift set of cards I made for my March hostesses.  Each month I come up with a different set of cards for my hostess gift.  I love doing this because 1) everyone can use cards and 2) I love making cards -win-win!
Above is the packaging - just our simple Chevron bags from SU and I added a decorated clothespin for the closure - simple and sweet.  Below is the entire set of cards.  I got my inspiration from a card I saw on Pinterest that was black and white with a pop of color - loved it!
Here's a close up of the final project - the gems add just the right amount of bling.  Thank you ladies for being great hostesses this month!
See you soon!! ~Maureen

Paisley as Mother Teresa

This week Paisley's 5th grade class did a project on influential people.  Paisley picked Mother Teresa.  Here she is dressed as Mother Teresa in the hallway at school with the poster she made above her.  As parents came down the hall and touched her hand she had to lift her head and do a short speech.  Wish I could have been there.

But Jenee sent me these pictures and I think she looks great!!  They are home today for a visit, so hopefully she'll do her speech for me today :)
Love this kiddo!! Love, Gramma

FREE from SAB

So for our second project at my downline meeting we used this amazing set from SU that you can get free for the rest of this month if you purchase $50 in merchandise.  Each kit contains all the material you need to make 8 cards with an assortment of sayings in French, German and English.  The kit shows the cards made in horizontal, but I switched it up a bit and went vertical.
I wanted the demonstrators to see this kit in person, as I don't think the brochure does it justice.  The gold lining for the crumb cake envelopes give it just the right amount of bling.  The only addition to this care was the Black strip I cut for a flag that we added the gold star to.  So cute, so fast, so fun - and FREE!!
If you want to order during Sale-A-Bration and get your card set free - just go to my website: www.stampingwithmaureen.stampinup.net and click on the shop button!!  But be sure to do so before the end of March as that's when the freebies go away!  ~Maureen

Adorable little purse CASE

So I found this adorable little purse on Brenda Quintana's blog - www.qbeesquest.blogspot.com - and fell in love with it.  I really love covering nuggets with DSP - is such a great presentation - but I also love SU's New Scalloped Tag Topper punch - and here I got to do both.  You can find the full tutorial on her blog - and it is easy to follow - so I we made this as one of our projects at my last Downline meeting.
The picture above is a bit dark, but below you can see it from the side with the nuggets inside.
This design could be changed up with other DSP for any holiday - think I'll come up with something for St. Patty's for my student workers.  Check back soon to see what else we did at the downline meeting.  Here are the ladies in the midst of their creating and chatting.  Nothing better than stamping with friends.
See you soon!! ~Maureen

Coffee - for me!

So here is what Heidi carved for me - a take out coffee cup - I LOVE IT!!!  One of my favorite sets in our catalog is our "Perfect Blend" set.  You can see some of the cards I've made with it here - http://crazystampinglady.blogspot.com/2013/09/more-coffee-cards.html  But I always love to stamp on my envelopes too - so now I have a coordinating stamp to do that with.  I am definitely a COFFEE addict - so very appropriate for me :)   Here is the carved image, and then it is stamped once, and then stamped again  for a lighter version.  Isn't it adorable?!?
Here are a couple other cards she made with her own creations in Undefined.
And she also shared many of the different designs she has created.  To me, they are just amazing!  Now I hope to get brave enough to try one.  If I do - I'll share - good, bad or ugly! (well maybe not if ugly)
Thanks for stopping by!  See you soon.  ~Maureen
